Phoebe feels great sorrow for things she has and hasn't done. Leaving the man cub with the owner seems to cause her a great deal of stress. If something bad  were to happen even if it there was nothing she could do, she won't let it go for a while if ever and will constantly hold it against herself.. 

Biography

Phoebe was born to two Cheetahs, one melanistic with mystifying markings and the other with a spotless pelt. Phoebe came out with a normal cheetah pattern so she was sold off near immediately. It was good in the end, her colorful siblings were made into spoiled pets. Phoebe earned character. She grew up fighting for her master every step of the way. Always working and being rewarded. Her success was her owner's downfall eventually. A rival owner with a large tiger decided to get even by burning the man's house down in hopes of killing him and Phoebe. He believed Phoebe should not have defeated his cats and the match had been fixed. He started the fire not knowing that only Phoebe and the man's infant son were the only ones home. Desperate to save herself and the man cub, Phoebe escaped with the boy and hid until the fire died and her owner returned. The rival owner was waiting just in case and ordered his tiger to kill the man.

Phoebe and the man cub were found later and taken in by a relative of her late owner. It was luck of the draw that many months later after recovering, Phoebe was put in a fight with the tiger. He taunted and teased her before revealing the terrible truth. "Funny how a little spark can cause so much destruction eh?" It fell into place like a collapsing tower for her and in a blind rage she attacked the tiger ripping his throat out. Instead of deeming her a monster and having her killed, she was given to the hunters. For the longest time she wouldn't speak to anyone except the Lead Hunter afraid she might lash out. The man cub she had so fiercely protected seemed to be the only one she was openly happy with. The man cub was her saving grace but rumors started to spread about the Hunters. Vicious, violent, cruel... That was what Phoebe was trying to get away from. What if the violence lead to her hurting the man cub she was so devoted to? There had to be a way out...

Phoebe was asked to watch the cages under the colisseum that contained captured escaped cats. She pitied them and wondered if she could help them at all. Her first attempt was dealt with in the colisseum and she was forbbiden from going back to the captured cats. She was treated like a captured cat. That was the final nail in the coffin. Phoebe left all traces of the Hunters behind knowing her man cub was safe with the people. She couldn't stay there in that hell any longer... Phoebe left for the Empires the captured cats spoke of finding herself in the Shadow Empire.
